Origins

China, Anhui Huangshan

Huangshan Mountain is one of China’s most famous and beautiful, and it’s also home to some of the best green teas in the country. There’s a saying in China that famous mountains produce famous tea – Huangshan is no exception. Known to have the most spectacular views in all of China, the mountain’s high elevation and altitude of over 700 meters above sea level, warm climate, constant rainfall and fertile soil produce some of the country’s most sought after tea. Huangshan Mao Feng Tea can be distinguished from other Mao Feng teas thanks to its vibrant jade green colour and delicate floral fragrance.

Too mild

This tea is too weak in flavour for my taste. I generally enjoy teas with a mild flavour, but no matter how many leaves I add or how low of a temperature I brew it at, it just tastes watery with hardly any flavour. And, like most green tea, it quickly becomes bitter if you overdo it. Maybe I just haven't found the right ratio of leaves:temperature:steeping time, but I suspect that this is just the nature of this tea.
