China, Yunnan Fengqing

Fengqing is a county in the southwest of Yunnan. One of the most historically and culturally significant tea regions in China, Fengqing is home to around 14,400 square miles of ancient tea trees and is well-known as the birthplace of Dianhong, or Yunnan black tea. The climate is mild, warm and wet – some refer to it as ‘four seasons just like spring’. This moderate climate that has given way to great ecological diversity and in the remote areas of Fengqing, tea bushes thrive. Only the most tender, juicy and fine buds are picked from these in the spring to produce Golden Tips – the region’s famed unique tea. Less than 2000kg of Golden Tips are produced each year.
